1. Purpose 1.1 This report aims to provide guidance and suggested actions to enhance the Community Wellbeing Committee's framework following feedback already received from members. 1.2 Provide a way forward to Committee members to ensure that the Committee aligns with the intended outcomes that were initially envisioned as per the Community Wellbeing Strategy 2021-24 and in preparation for the renewed Strategy. |

Following introductory remarks from the Chair, Mr Mark Hammond spoke to the report noting the areas of the framework that there is a desire to improve on in the new year. A focus in 2024 will be improved communication with the committee.
Feedback was positive around having remote link option for meetings. Discussion around the table indicated a strong desire for public excluded sessions to allow open networking to build inter-agency relationships. Officers to look into ways to increase accessibility to meetings going forward.

8 Reports for Noting

1. Purpose To give an update and overview of the activities and actions undertaken by the current Community Wellbeing network committees. |
|
|
Julia Atkins introduced her report, noting highlights from each committee. Noting particular action around youth wellbeing with youth vaping prevention, emergency housing, and planning the Youth Expo youth for youth. Also highlighted was the success of the Age on the Go Expo in November being the biggest one yet. Access and Inclusion Network helped deliver a successful International Day of Disabled Persons.
Patrick Rennell provided a verbal update for Education Horowhenua, highlighting the poor statistics for older youth engagement in education and looking at successful transition out of school into the workforce or further education. These issues will require a multiagency approach and there will be a presentation on this in early 2024.
Mark Hammond updated the committee on Youth Empowerment Project (yEP) advised this runs out of the youth space at Te Takeretanga o Kura-hau-pō and have a great group of committed rangatahi.
